The Alliance partners with Evergreen ADAPT, ARC of King County, and other local non-profits to organize transportation and logistical support for several hundred ADAPT activists that came to Seattle during a meeting of the National Governors Association in July of 2004. ADAPT held a rally and march through downtown, in which many of the Alliance's staff and board members participated.

She and Joelle Brouner, our other local representative and the Evergreen ADAPT President, both gave excellent speeches on why it is so important for people with disabilities to be given the opportunity to live in the community, rather than in institutions.
