Requesting a Disabled Parking Space
This document applies to public areas (grocery stores, businesses, etc) that do not have designated parking for individuals with disabilities.
1. The first step to take when you become aware that a local business or place of public accommodation does not have designated disabled parking is to speak to the owner of the business. You should inform them that by law they are required to provide disabled parking. You can also refer them to the ADA Technical Assistance Center for information on how many parking spaces they are required to have (provided below).

2. If they are not open to speaking with you or do not remedy their parking lot, the next step to take is to contact the ADA technical assistance center yourself to report a violation.
